FLIR B600 Series: FLIR B620 & FLIR B660
The FLIR B Series really is a step up from other thermal imaging cameras. The FLIR B620 and FLIR B660 contain a host of features and technical improvements not present in many other FLIR thermal cameras, making the FLIR B600 Series the ideal camera for advanced thermographers.
Camera resolution is at 640 x 480, and with a 5.6" display screen and 3.2 megapixel camera, it is incredibly easy to ensure you are taking the perfect thermal photographs.
Once the thermal images are taken, they can be transferred to a PC via USB (and FireWire in the FLIR B660). It is also possible to transfer data via Bluetooth to the infrared camera from an Extech clamp meter or multifunction tester, which eliminates the chance of incorrect measurements or notes being recorded. The cameras can also be connected via composite video cables in order to stream MP4 videos on a PC (FLIR B660 only).
The FLIR B620 camera is sensitive to <65mK at a temperature of 30°C, and the FLIR B660 to <30mK at 30°C. The B600 Series cameras can measure temperatures ranging from -40°C to +120°C.
There are also many helpful photography features. Each camera within the FLIR B Series uses isotherms, boxes and spotmeters to guide your thermal imaging work, and the camera can be focussed automatically or manually using a 2x zoom in the B620 or 8x zoom in the B660. Thermal images can be annotated with either text or voice, and it is possible to create panoramic images for large subjects.
The FLIR B660 also uses laser focus for extra accuracy and crisp imaging where you need it the most, and even GPS to add time and location data to your image files to assist with record-keeping.
There are also a number of ways to manipulate images to make them clearer still: for instance, FLIR’s Picture-in-Picture and Thermal Fusion technology is present throughout the B Series, allowing you to view selected parts of an image in both visual and thermal imaging. The FLIR B660 camera uses a contrast optimiser to tweak the image even further, so that any image is perfectly displayed.
It's not just the technical specifications that enhance your thermal imaging work: the cameras themselves have been designed to be comfortable, practical and incredibly easy to use. A multi-angle handle can give you perfect grip, keeping your infrared camera safe and steady. This grip can be adjusted to suit you.
There are also programmable direct access buttons, which give you easy access to the most important features of the camera. A tiltable viewfinder also allows you to adjust in case of glare when working outside, allowing a perfect view of your work at all times.
FLIR have also included Dewpoint and Humidity Alarms in the B Series cameras, to enable detection of specific temperature levels instantly, without needing to analyse the results of an image at a later time.
The FLIR B Series thermal imaging cameras have clearly been designed to offer an expert, professional thermal imaging camera to those with specialist requirements. The FLIR B620 and FLIR B660 do have subtle differences but on the whole, these cameras are vastly superior to the majority of the infrared camera market.
